I got my HPI Racing Baja 5Bss as a Christmas gift; it’s an
excellent Xmas gift.
My wife was kind enough to let me put it together a few days before
Christmas so that I was able to drive it on Christmas Day.
It took me about twelve to fourteen hours to get it all put together,
then the wait for December 25th.
Finally the morning of Christmas the wife and I head out to a BMX track
at a public park (that R/C is now banned from imagine that banning a Tax
Payer from something they paid for).
I was pretty excited to finally get to drive the beast, but first had to
break in the motor.
I read the manual and several articles and posts on internet forums
about breaking in my 26cc two stroke motor.
I decided the best way to do the engine break-in was
1. Let the engine idle for half a tank of fuel and check it for leaks
and anything else out of the ordinary.
2. After half a tank of full drive it varying the throttle from idle to
almost full throttle never holding one engine speed.
I am pretty sure this was the right thing to do since I never had a
problem with that engine till it was just plain worn out.
