What is a kidney stone or if you want to use the medical term renal calculi? A Kidney Stone is a mass of small Crystals that form in the kidney. If they are small enough you can pass them unnoticed but if they are large enough trust me you will feel it. It almost feels like someone punched you in the back as hard as they could. |

So what causes a Kidney Stone (Renal Calculi)? There are several things that can cause a kidney stone. Genetics can be one factor, Cystinuria is a condition passed down through your family. It is a condition that causes your kidneys to form stones no matter what you do. Diet is another factor; a poor diet can cause a stone. Not drinking enough water can cause them and is probably the most common reason people get them today. Drinking to many soft drinks and not enough water will give you kidney stone. Generally for every 12 fluid ounces of soft drink you should drink at least 16 to 24 oz of water. |
